Official Statement of Health Precautions Related to COVID-19
We have taken enhanced health and safety measures—for you, faculty, and staff members. All instructions must be followed.
An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and death. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable.
Attending classes at the Marco Island Center for the Arts is a completely voluntary act and by attending one assumes all risks related to exposure to COVID-19.
Please abide by all instructions to keep each other healthy and safe.
- Maintain a minimum of 6 feet between people
- Thermal temperature checks are mandatory each day
- Facial coverings (masks) are to be worn at all times except when there is a functional (practical) reason for the covering not to be worn
- Facial coverings (masks) should be cloth/fabric and cover an individual’s nose, mouth, and chin
- Regular hand washing is required
- Sharing of work materials is not recommended, and shared items must be cleaned between their use
- Congregating in groups is prohibited
- Seating distance of a minimum of 6 feet or more is to be maintained
- To accommodate the required six feet of social distancing, enrollment in each class will be reduced
- Only use specified entrances, exits, and traffic patterns
- Only two individuals in a restroom at a time
- Water fountains will be disabled; students are encouraged to bring their own water bottles
Individuals must stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days if they:
- recently traveled by airplane
- were exposed to an infected person
- do not feel well or are symptomatic (fever, chills, fatigue, cough, sore throat, headache, muscle pain, diarrhea, loss of smell or taste)
- May return after at 10 days if asymptomatic or have tested negative for COVID-19
Anyone not adhering to these guidelines will be required to leave the Art Center premises
During the class/session, I register for, if I become sick or test positive for COVID-19, I will alert the Executive Director and remove myself from the Art Center immediately after providing a list of all the Art Center individuals that I have been in contact within the recent past.
The Executive Director of the Art Center has the right to restrict any employee or student’s attendance at the Art Center if tested positive for COVID-19, if infection is suspected, or contact with an infected person is suspected. Upon notification of a current infected COVID-19 student or employee, a notice will be given to employees and students recommended being tested.
Classes must be canceled a minimum of 1 full business day prior to the start of the first class. A non-refundable registration fee equal to 10% of the course tuition will be deducted from the refund. Students who withdraw from a class less than one full business day prior to the start of class are not eligible for a refund. No partial refunds will be issued due to a student’s failure to attend class. No refunds will be issued due to a student’s failure to attend class.
The Armory will not assume liability for injuries that occur within the subject area where the student is enrolled. Upon registration for any course, the student assumes all reasonable liability from injuries related to the scope of the coursework being taught and releases the Marco Island Center for the Arts from any liability claims related to any injuries and/or accidents that may occur. The student can be assured that every reasonable safety precaution is taken by the center. The Marco Island Center for the Arts is not responsible for any artwork or personal items lost or stolen in the classrooms or lockers.
CANCELLED OR MISSED COURSES
There are no make-up classes due to student illness, travel, or other reasons that are not the responsibility of the Marco Island Center for the Arts. Students enrolled in courses that are canceled by the Art Center due to lack of enrollment or instructor illness will receive a full refund. Every effort will be made to notify students at least 24 hours before the first class.
ART STUDIO SAFETY RULES AND ATTIRE
All students must abide by posted departmental rules and must dress appropriately while attending class and working in the studio. Such requirements are posted in each studio and may include rules requiring students to wear close-toed shoes and safety masks or goggles, etc. Not all safety gear is provided. Please contact department directors, or look for the posted studio rules in each area for further safety information to assure a positive and safe experience at the Marco Island Center for the Arts.

The Marco Island Center for the Arts school admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic, and other school-administered programs.

We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our site in which you have expressed interest. At your option, you may also provide demographic information (such as gender or age) about yourself, but it is not required.
