Gala 2014: Rhapsody in Black

On Sunday evening, February 9th, 2014 the Marco Island Center for the Arts will hold its 2nd annual formal gala and auction. The glamorous event will take place at the Island Country Club.

The theme of the gala, Rhapsody in Black, is based on the 1920s when expat artists were in France celebrating life and the arts through their work. Hemingway, Picasso, Cole Porter, Gershwin and Josephine Baker are only a few of the greats who led the revelry of the age.

The gala leadership is led by Corrie J. Grado, Honorary Chair; Russ and Sue Darrow, Chairs; and Dennis and Penny Nelson, Co-Chairs.

A most beautiful exhibition of East Meets West. Artist Reception for Asian Fusion, a members only juried exhibition. Tuesday, March 12, 5:30-7PM. Open to the Public. Costco providing referesments. Memers and a guest are free; non-members $5 donation.

Join us at the Marco Island Center for the Arts on Tuesday, February 12th from 5:30-7PM for our monthly gallery reception featuring:

"Form de la Femme." A multimedia juried show featuring works of art showcasing and inspired by the feminine form.

The event is free to Art Center members and one guest; refreshments will be served. Non-members are asked to make a $5 donation.

This show will be open in our Lauritzen and Rush Gallery's from Monday, Feb. 4th - Tuesday Feb. 26th.

Black & White Gala - A Success!

The Black and White Gala held at the Hilton Marco Island was an elegant and successful evening. Our deepest thanks go out to all involved including the participants, donators, sponsors, artists, honorees and attendees.

Maestro Bryan Tari arrives again on Marco Island to play and lecture for the Rennaisance Academy at the MI Center for the Arts! Thursday, January 24, 1:30-3PM. $25.
