Rinny Ryan

Rinny Ryan touched clay for the first time in college in 1962. She received her B.A. from the University of Miami in ceramics and continued on to complete her graduate studies at Antioch College, Maryland Institute of Art, and Penland School of Crafts. After completing her graduate studies she participated in an apprenticeship with Mary Nybury Studios for two years. Rinny is currently teaching pottery at Florida Gulf Coast University. She has been a professor of ceramics at Edison Community College, and a pottery instructor for Greenwich House Pottery in NYC. Rinny has participated in twelve solo exhibitions, twenty-five selected group exhibitions, has been awarded honors from The National Park Service, The Contemporary Craft Museum in NYC, and the Hudson Valley Historical Society. She creates all kinds of slip decorated folk art stoneware and earthenware.
