Inez Hudson

OIL - is not a “dirty word!“ Because it has been around for centuries, the beginner tends to feel it must be extremely difficult. NOT SO! As a self-taught artist, Inez has developed her own unique method of beginning oil paintings. In this class, her technique and “tricks” will be shared in a serious yet fun atmosphere. The beginner will no longer feel intimidated. Those already working in oil will learn to enjoy it more. Paintings may include still life, figures, and landscapes-just about anything! Primarily a self-taught artist, Inez began drawing classes at Oakland Community College, studying oils with local artists, learning basket weaving, quilting and tole painting, all helping to enhance her natural talent. She approaches each piece of artwork, no matter the subject, medium, or size, with the same importance and integrity. The philosophy applied to her work is that beauty and fun is in everything it’s just a matter of helping it to be seen. Inez has received numerous portrait commissions, which include a double portrait in oil for her local library in Michigan, as well as several children and pet portraits. She has designed whimsical cat note cards, which were juried into and sold in the Michigania store, and has given private drawing and painting lessons.
