Diane Reed Eiler is originally from Louisville Kentucky. She received her degree in Studio Art from the University of Arizona. Reed lived in Arizona for ten years as she pursued her education and art career. Relocating to Florida in the late 80's Reed continued to paint as she and her husband raised three sons. Painting has always been her primary passion and career focus. This focus has helped Reed survive many personal ups and downs, the most recent being the illness and subsequent death of her beloved husband. The unique and complex beauty of the Everglades and Southwest Florida coast along with trips out west continue to provide ample inspiration and influence for her paintings.
Reed paints in watercolor, oil and acrylics. Her watercolors take advantage of the depth created by building up multiple transparent layers of color while her oils and acrylics are built with bold textures and colorful shapes.
"My intent is to bring together the light, color and natural composition nature rewards us with and translates it into a unique painting for the viewer to experience."
Reed has shown her work in Arizona, Texas, Kentucky, and Florida galleries. Currently her work may be seen at the Art League of Marco Island, Florida. In addition her work is in numerous private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad. Her experience and knowledge as an artist/painter has provided a natural avenue for her to teach a mixture of art techniques publicly and privately in Arizona and Florida. She currently teaches a variety of classes at the Art League of Marco Island and offers private lessons.
